Escaping an Air Emergency

Escaping an Air Emergency

I am lucky I escaped the city.

Every year, Delhi turns into a gas chamber. My new reality revolved around systemic bronchial flus and experiencing mysterious eye blood vessel ruptures.

Far beyond human tolerance, the abysmal Air Quality Index (AQIs) – leaves you gasping for a breath of air (not even a fresh one!). This is an existential threat to the planet and humanity.

Our hesitation and continued denial of climate health is truly baffling. Climate Change is just one of the axis in the complex web of environmental and societal sustainability issues. Tackling the health impacts of climate change and addressing the vital intersection of climate and health is imperative.

HEAL has been working with the local community on environment conservation, supporting greener ecosystems, reviving organic farming, nurturing medicinal herbs and sustainable ecological development in the remote mountain regions of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Think Plato – Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good action in others. For genuine progress and development – behavioral change, collective action incentivized by policies and technological innovation needs to be synchronized. Hope we are approaching closer to the much-anticipated tipping point on collaborative climate action and better health.
